Lancashire Data Solutions specialise in the development of bespoke databases in Lancashire
and Cumbria for all applications. A database is simply a collection of related information
that is stored in an organised manner.
We primarily use MS Access as a development tool as it fully integrates with the
Microsoft suite of Office applications. For more advanced solutions requiring Client/Server
databases to be run over LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks) or
the Internet we use either SQL Server or MySQL as a development tool.
MS Access is a windows based Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) which
stores data in tables accessed by forms. Information required from the database
is obtained by means of queries which then output the information in some form of
report suitable for printing or import into a mail merge document.
We use industry standard best practice in all of our database projects.
