Lancashire Data Solutions specialise in the development of bespoke databases in Lancashire and Cumbria for all applications. A database is simply a collection of related information that is stored in an organised manner.
We primarily use MS Access as a development tool as it fully integrates with the Microsoft suite of Office applications. For more advanced solutions requiring Client/Server databases to be run over LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks) or the Internet we use either SQL Server or MySQL as a development tool.
MS Access is a windows based Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) which stores data in tables accessed by forms. Information required from the database is obtained by means of queries which then output the information in some form of report suitable for printing or import into a mail merge document.
Best Practice
We use industry standard best practice in all of our database projects.
This is a set of guidelines coupled with a detailed understanding of the underlying technical concepts.
Bespoke software is custom designed to your requirements and can be tailored to conform with your current business practices, rather than being forced to change your practices to work with the software.
Users will require minimum training and find find the software more intuitive and easier to use.
Software designed for your business can incorporate processes not found in packaged software.
Custom software is much more flexible than packaged software and can be modified and upgraded over time as your requirements and business practices change.
